This article will assist you with choosing a strong password to protect your TM3 Site.
The use of a strong, unique password is one of the most important things you can do to protect your data.
While we don't want to make our TM3/TM2 users frustrated when creating passwords we do want to do everything we can to keep your site and your data safe.
The use of strong, unique passwords is one of the most important things you can do to keep attackers from gaining access to your system. This goes for any website not just TM3/TM2.
In our most recent update passwords that are acceptable for TM3/TM2 logins are rated from 'Good' to 'Great.'
How to pick a 'Good' to 'Great' password?
To create a password that meets our strength requirements it’s recommended to use a mix of three or more random/ common words:
Examples - Do not Use!
Good Password (bacontvscreen)
Great Password (fruit-city-person-pet)
We would recommend an effective approach to having a great password would be to pick a series of random words.
While this type of password pattern might deviate from common password patterns it is much more difficult for computers to crack, whilst remaining easily memorable.
If the password you have picked falls below the Good password strength level, feel free to add some special characters or numbers to increase the strength.
The password meter may seem random but the algorithm used is in fact recognising and rejecting common password patterns such as dates, phrase (eg “password”)”and keyboard patterns such as (9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0).
